• Queen Elizabeth II leaves Buckingham Palace to spend time in Windsor almost every weekend.
  • Reports that the monarch has fled London for Windsor amid the coronavirus crisis aren't true.
  • A source confirms to BAZAAR.com that the queen will return to Buckingham Palace this week.

Everyone has started to take precautions against the spread of coronavirus, and that includes members of the royal family canceling trips. But while the queen has been forced to cancel some engagements, reports that she's fled London for Windsor are apparently unfounded.

A palace aide tells BAZAAR.com that Her Majesty will continue with a number of duties over the days ahead, with some taking place in London. Queen Elizabeth is also expected to return to Buckingham Palace following the weekend. The queen routinely spends time in Windsor, particularly during the weekend, so her most recent trip outside of London is not unusual.

With coronavirus at large in the United Kingdom, and worldwide, Queen Elizabeth has been forced to make some changes to her schedule. For instance, the monarch's previously scheduled visits to Cheshire and Camden will no longer be taking place. Meanwhile, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla have canceled their royal tour of Bosnia, Herzegovina, Cyprus, and Jordan, as it is currently unadvisable to travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A press release from Buckingham Palace explained, "In consultation with the Medical Household and Government, Her Majesty’s forthcoming visits to Cheshire and Camden will be rescheduled." It continued, "Audiences [with the queen] will continue as usual. Other events will be reviewed on an ongoing basis in line with the appropriate advice."
